ilkwang Lighting, one of Korea’s long-established light bulb manufacturers, has built its reputation on decades of technical expertise and production heritage. As the brand evolved over time, its visual identity no longer fully reflected the strength of its legacy or the expectations of the contemporary market. We approached the project as a strategic brand refresh—realigning Ilgwang’s identity by reinterpreting its industrial heritage and the material essence of light through a refined, contemporary visual language.

We approached the project as a strategic brand refresh—realigning Ilgwang’s identity by reinterpreting its industrial heritage and the material essence of light through a refined, contemporary visual language.



The new logo expresses clarity, balance, and technical precision, subtly referencing the diffusion and energy of light while reinforcing the brand’s stability and craftsmanship. Packaging design and overall art direction were developed to create a cohesive product experience, with particular emphasis on the light bulb itself as the brand’s core object. Rather than concealing the product, the packaging was designed to reveal it—allowing users to immediately experience the form, luminosity, and glass materiality of the bulb, presenting its inherent beauty in an intuitive and exhibition-like manner.

Through a carefully redefined visual system, the brand has evolved from a traditional manufacturer into a modern identity centered on the experience of light, establishing a clear foundation for its future growth.
