COG Design Studio approached ArcScan not merely as a technical device, but as an object that mediates between clinician and patient.
The form was carefully researched and designed to balance lightweight construction with precise scanning performance, ensuring stability in the hand while maintaining accuracy at the tip.

From an ergonomic perspective, ArcScan’s geometry is shaped to naturally wrap around the user’s hand, reducing fatigue during prolonged procedures and allowing intuitive, confident control.
At the same time, its slim, refined profile minimizes visual and physical presence inside the oral cavity, easing patient discomfort and creating a calmer treatment experience.
By considering both the practitioner’s grip and the patient’s sensation, ArcScan embodies a form that is gentle, efficient, and considerate transforming high-performance intraoral scanning into a more human-centered interaction.
